Masterclass Objective:
Last year’s costs are a terrible estimate to use to forecast future resource requirements and decisions based on these forecasts have proven to be poor. This workshop will tell our story of using Whole of Life (WoL) modelling to inform the people across your organisation, resulting in better business decisions through an understanding of the asset lifecycle.
The business decisions for fl eet selection, operating and capital budgets, operating plans or purchasing agreements will all directly affect the maintenance team for the equipment. Good forecasting of lifecycle costs enables high value business decisions to be made rapidly, and provides all internal stakeholders (fi nancial, operations, and maintenance for example) a voice in the decision-making process.
Using real case studies from transportation and open cut mining, this workshop will demonstrate the use of Whole of Life Modelling, including how one mining operation used WoL modelling to deliver a 25% reduction in maintenance cost, an industry best practice for this asset type.
